Andrea Girolmo is a Licensed Therapist and Consultant with a diverse background that has shaped her into the professional she is today. Raised in Brooklyn, NY, and born in Lima, Peru, Spanish is her first language. As a first-generation college graduate from a large and lively family one of eight siblings, she knows the value of hard work and determination.
Facing numerous challenges while growing up in public housing, Andrea took on the role of a second parent to her siblings as her mother worked multiple jobs to provide for the family. Throughout her life, she encountered key individuals who she refers to as "my angels," individuals who offered hope and kindness during difficult times, inspiring her to pursue a profession where she could make a difference in others' lives.
Andrea's past adversities have uniquely equipped her to empathize and connect with her clients. She takes pride in her ability to work with diverse personalities and cultures, always approaching each individual with genuine curiosity and a willingness to learn. An avid supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, she stands for social justice and equality.
In her free time, Andrea enjoys cooking for her family, challenging herself with strenuous hikes, and indulging in audio books to accommodate her energetic toddlers. A mentor once told me, “go one step at a time and at your own pace.” That has stuck with me and I have adapted it not only to my hiking adventures, but in different areas of my life.

Professional Experience:
I have worked extensively with individuals battling anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, and other emotional disturbances. My experience in working with clients of all ages started in my early career at a community mental health agency. This role provided me with valuable insights into assisting individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Transitioning to an integrated care setting further honed my skills, allowing me to address addictive disorders and sharpen my understanding of the interconnectedness of mental and physical health. Collaborating closely with medical professionals, I have learned to treat the body and mind holistically to provide comprehensive care for my clients. I am now serving as consultant in an early childhood setting, my role involves offering support, education, and guidance to expand caregivers' capacity in understanding childhood development.
Education and Licensure
I have my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Alfred University. Additionally, I hold a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Theatre. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado.
